September 15th - Mid Autumn Festival
China has a tradition of eating mooncakes during the Mid Autumn Festival, celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar. This is to honor the moon goddess Chang’e (sounds like the Change in Change Sports which is interesting to note) who became a deity after consuming an immortality pill. She sought refuge on the moon after Hou Yi discovered she stole her immortality pill.
To honor this tradition and to spread joy to my students, I prepared a ton of mooncakes to share with my students and other stuff members there. It was a blast and I hope to celebrate every holiday with my wonderful students in my last year at Change.
